Kelly, Mick, Taj, Bede, CJ and Steds were upstaged by a flying flea circus of air specialists in the 'Boost Mobile Surf Sho' on the weekend.
None of the WPS boys made the final in the torrid onshores of Surfers Paradise, as a host of junior and underground rippers got on a roll and turned into spring-loaded jumping beans.
The air army, including the likes of; Julian Wilson, Chipper Wilson, Asher Pacey and eventual winner Owen Wright staved off huge punts from the pros.
No big surprise to Kelly: "Some of these guys are probably the best at aerials in the world, there are a few on tour like Taj and Bruce, but for these guys it's the fundamentals of their surfing."
Didn't phase many of the fans who still got to see Mick Fanning riding an inflatable pool toy, Jamie O'Brien on a goat boat and last year's winner Taj pulling off a 360 in the foam on a boogeyboard.

Worthy winner Owen Wright surfed like a monster on helium all weekend. As Kelly said on Saturday: "It's about going as big as you can. When you get that section it's about pushing what can be done."
