Today dawned a bit grey, far from epic and the line-up was initially devoid of bikini clad groupies as Dane Reynolds lost out to CJ Hobgood early doors. Jeremy Flores took down local hero Manoa Drollet and Kelly Slater came out all guns firing, lit up the event and stated his intent in dramatic fashion via a double barrelled win over Adam Melling.
Come the quarters Freddy P lost out to Flores, Tiago Pires the Euro tiger got the wrong side of CJ, Slats took down Adrian Buchan and Andy knocked down Patrick Gudauskas verson 2.0 who had suddenly learned how to surf on the World Tour.
Andys rep as being cocky has faded..... he hit a career bottum and is on the move up... I would hate have to compete against this guy when hes on .... LIKE RT NOW!!!! So lets root for the "CHAMP"!!!! best tube rider in the biz,,, by the way
