NEWQUAY, Sept 4th and 5th. An intro to oceanography and meteorology for surfers and other water users by Dr Tony Butt.
The Open division of the Auto-Sleepers British Bodyboard Nationals is due to take place next weekend on either the 1st (Saturday) or 2nd (Sunday) of November. The BSA will make the call on Wednesday of next week to decide which day looks best; so keep your eyes peeled for a further update.

Competitors should assemble at Porthtowan at 8.00 for re-check-in to be completed by 8.30. First heats in the water at 9.00am to start the competition for the £1,000 first place prize. If you wish to be included on the reserve list please ensure that your entry form has been sent to andy@britsurf.co.uk if you are in the draw and now cannot compete please let
us know as soon as possible.

Those wishing to make a weekend of it and stay over in Porthtowan on Saturday can take advantage of discounted rates at The Beach Hotel; email rooms@thebeachhotel.net and state that you are attending the Nationals to get the discounted rate. We also have the premier of "Don't Stop Dreaming" www.dontstopdreaming.tv , Colin Van Dongen's new BB documentary to showcase over the weekend. The Blue Bar will have live music Saturday evening.

With the best part of £2,000 in prize money for the top 4 placings, competition will be intense. ITV Sport are sending a film crew to cover the event and BBC news are expected too, so expect to see yourself on regional TV.
