ONE man's adventure through the pounding beach breaks of Mexico. The Coast Road project journey begins.
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – On the Saturday of August 16th (Rain Dates: Aug. 17th, 23rd, and 24th), EastCoastBodyboarding.com
(ECBB) and the United States Bodyboarding Association (USBA) will host a day-long bodyboarding competition, beach festival, and free clinic to raise money for local and national charities.

The event will take place on the beach on the South side of Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, NJ, and will be open to beachgoers and riders of all ages. All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Ocean’s Harbor House, The American Red Cross (Jersey Coast Chapter), and The Surfrider Foundation.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of this event is its availability to families and the general public. While many bodyboarding competitions take place each year around the country, this particular event seeks to achieve something more than just creating another venue for bodyboarders to compete. Bodyboarding for a Cause! is all about bringing people together to raise money and to have a good time in the name of the charities it represents. Because of this, we encourage anyone who has ever ridden or wants to learn to ride a bodyboard (commonly known as a boogie board) to come down to the beach and join in the festivities.

Much like a walk-a-thon, this event also offers the opportunity for individuals to raise money on their own and, in turn, be rewarded with prizes based on the dollar value raised. Anyone who downloads the fundraising form at EastCoastBodyBoarding.com is free to raise money on his/her own and be rewarded for his/her good work with boards, fins, clothing, and much more. This is an excellent opportunity for people to win some high quality gear, while at the same time raising money for a worthy cause.

The event will feature music, lessons from professional bodyboarders, prizes, giveaways, free iced tea from Honest Tea, and food samples from local vendors.

The clinic and beach fest are both free to attend. The contest costs $30 to enter (includes a custom-made event t-shirt). Save $10 by pre-registering online at http://ecbb.eventbrite.com. For up-to-date information on the status of the event, please call the event hotline at (203) 809-2095.
