Biggest Sunset Ever? Miss the "big ones", huh? Photos seem to show about the size Sunset BEGINS to move from the point to the middle ("real Sunset") Eight (8) feet. There are others like me who have ridden it near close-out size: 20 feet. What journalistic BS. Title it the "BIGGEST EVER", then serve up messy, undersized hash. You should be ashamed. I registered only because of the outrageous journalistic license you've taken. I regret it.

"IT might have been the biggest seen at a Sunset comp but it sure wasn't the prettiest or the cleanest." I don't think Sharpy was referring to it being the biggest ever, rather the biggest ever seen at the Sunset comp.

Yeah, big but not "that" big, just wrong swell direction and confused. Maybe too much sand on the reef right now too.

No they were talking about the biggest ever for the contest. But the swell coming should be gnarly

The sand will get washed away, from the size of the surf! Just wait and see...=)

Your right. They were talking about the peak buoy reading of 18ft at 15 seconds, and the competetors were only riding the inside section of the break. The outside was big and crumbly but if you try sunset it dishes out a mean hold under. just whitewater breaks boards. Hawaiian power is hard to match; I havent found a country where the power and heaviness is quite the same. But I havent been to UK yet!
