Bundoran Surf school provides surf lessons for all standards of surfers, from the first time beginner to intermediate and advanced levels of surfers. All our instructors are fully qualified, experienced surfers, who will take you to the best locations. Bundoran Surf Lodge is centrally located in town with plenty of twin and double en-suite rooms with TV, as well as several bunk rooms. Many of the rooms have sea views. With private parking, board and wetsuit storage, free internet access and wireless broadband, the surf lodge is the perfect retreat in Bundoran.
Bundoran is, without doubt, the surf capital of Ireland, providing the most consistent and best quality surf in Ireland. There are many quality reef breaks for experienced surfers, as well as numerous beach breaks that are perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers. Tullan Strand, where we do most of our surf lessons, is the most consistent beach on the west coast and will have a wave even if everywhere else is flat. On bigger swells and certain wind directions there are good options at nearby Streedagh, Rossnowlagh and Mullaghmore. The main advantage of surfing in Bundoran over other areas in Ireland is the diversity of surf spots offering offshore, clean conditions in a variety of wind and swell directions. Only 3 hours from Dublin and easily accessible by public transport, come and check out just why Bundoran is the surf capital of Ireland. The coastline of Donegal Bay also offers excellent conditions for kitesurfing in a variety of flat water and wave riding conditions.
Bundoran Surf Lodge is ideally located close to the beaches and also to the town centre. All the rooms in the lodge are spacious and have hotel standard beds. All private rooms are en-suite and with TV.
Many of the rooms offer views of the main beach. We also offer free internet access and wireless broadband. There is a fully equipped kitchen for guests to use, BBQ facilities, and free tea and coffee all day.
We provide you with a healthy continental breakfast each morning to set you up for the day, with juice, cereals, toast, freshly brewed coffee and tea.
You will find the lodge is a perfect place to chill out after surfing. There is a spacious lounge area with wide screen TV, DVD player and X-Box and DVD library. Throughout the Lodge you will find a selection of surf art and photography by local and international artists.
There is private parking at the back of the building and plenty of storage space for boards, and a drying room for wetsuits. Bundoran Surf Lodge is run by local surfers so you will be able to get all the details you need on where and when to surf in Bundoran. The lodge has four double/twin rooms and two triple rooms.
There are two bunk rooms that can sleep 4 and 6 people. The four bed dorm is en-suite and the six bed has its own private bathroom next door.
Double, twin and triple rooms €25pps. Dorm room €20pps. Single supplement in private room €15 per night. All rates include breakfast.
If you are staying at the Surf Lodge you get a special surf lesson rate of €30 The Surf Lodge is open to everybody - you don't have to be surfing with us to stay!
Surfing is a great sport to be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels. We even offer an OAP discount. It is a great way to pick up a new sport or even just an excuse to get into the great outdoors. Lessons take place in waist depth water so dont worry if you aren't confident in the water. Our Surf School is approved by the Irish Surfing Association and therefore all instructors are qualified beach lifeguards.
We pride ourselves on our quality coaching, excellent customer service and facilities, and our goal is to ensure your surfing skills progress in a fun and safe environment. We believe we can help you achieve your surfing goals by keeping groups small and providing personal attention to each student. We have a range of different boards for you try, so you can progress your skills.
Lessons cost €35 for adults and €25 for kids (up to 16yrs). The lessons last for about 3 hours and the cost includes all boards, wetsuits and instruction. We also provide changing facilities, hot showers, transport to and from the beach, and a hot drink after the session.

During the summer months we run a kids camp.
