Costa Rica Condo......Luxury for Surfers!
Casa Vista Mar is a beautiful, luxury, three bedroom condo located in Playa Langosta, overlooking locals' favorite surf breaks, one mile from the popular surfing town of Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Tamarindo was made famous by Robert August, a Tamarindo resident, in Endless Summer II.
The condo is on the 6th floor of a 7 story building, the tallest in this upscale area and boasts 270 degree view of the surrounding surf breaks. The beach side of the condo is floor to ceiling windows. Locals call for a surf report! The view is stunning and the sunsets are consistently exquisite!
From the condo you can look straight down on the Cala Luna Hotel, home of Federico Pilurzu, the Costa Rican national surfing champion. You will be surfing the same breaks. From the south terrace you have a bird's eye view of the locals' favorite break at the Langosta river mouth, a variety of peaky beach breaks, and Zappo, a reef break. All are within easy walking distance. From the north terrace you can view Snake's, a point break at the Rock at Playa Grande, and the renowned, consistent peaks of the center break of Playa Grande a bit further south. From the condo, you walk for three minutes down a jungle path in the Las Baulas National Park to get to the pristine white sand beach of Playa Langosta and the surf.
Nearby surfing locations include: Playa Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas, Playa Negra, Marbella, Playa Grande, and a boat ride away is the famous Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point. The center of Playa Tamarindo is a one mile walk on the beach, or a five minute drive. Driving time to the other surf spots is one hour or less.
The Condo
The condo itself is in a luxury building with all amenities. It sleeps up to 10 adults. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master and the second bedroom both have king size beds which can be separated into two twins, accommodating two couples or four singles. The third bedroom has two adult size XL bunk beds, which accommodate 4 more adults.
Two additional people can sleep in the living room on the extraordinarily comfortable custom designed sofa and the trundle bed contained in it. Some prefer the sofa on the terrace to sleep to the sound of the waves! So the condo can accommodate 10 singles or combinations of couples and singles comfortably.
The complex has a pool with waterfall and jacuzzi, grill and outdoor dining area by the pool, covered parking, 24 hour security, a fully equipped kitchen, and washer and dryer. All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning units. It is equipped with wireless internet, two 42" flat screen tvs, a Denon sound system, (bring your Ipod and cable), and a land line. The master has a private jacuzzi. The building has a back up generator in case the power goes out, (which happens, but rarely.) The two king/convertible beds have 600 thread count sheets over the pillow tops on the beds. It has spa quality towels.
The Area
Tamarindo is the largest town on the Northwest Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. It has a surfing heritage and has evolved into an upscale mecca and home for expats of all nationalities. It has an amazing variety of fine restaurants, owned and operated by people from all over the world. The nightlife is legendary.
A world class grocery is in Tamarindo, as are many shops featuring imported and locally made crafts and fashions. And of course many surf shops with everything you need to rent or buy for surfing. Near the condo, a small market, several restaurants, a sports bar, a club and casino are all in Playa Langosta within short walking distance.
RATES
Surfing in Costa Rica does not mean that you have to give up the comforts of home. In the low tourist season, which is the best surfing season, when the south swells come, from April through Nov, the condo rents for $175/night. If you have a group of five this is only $35/night for luxury accommodations! You can't beat that in a surf camp or cabinas!
