CHASING Monsters down in Puerto Escondido. The second massive south's 30ft barrels didn't pass without incident -- David Langer recipient of a battered leg, broken in four places.

Creator of Chasing Monsters, Ken 'Skindog' Collins, plus Greg Long, Coco Nogales, Jamie Sterling, Oscar Mondcada, Rusty Long, Shawn Dollar and Maya Gabiera hit-up Mexico's wave of consequence for the biggest swell of the season.

"In Puerto Escondido you've gotta go through Hell's Kitchen even to get to the wave" Says Skindog with Shawn Dollar claiming it as heavy as Mavericks when it gets like this. Here there is no escape route, no safe zone at size... with this much water moving you can drown a few feet from sandy safety.

Praia do Norte (Nazaré) in Portugal is bigger and scary than Puerto Escondido. Waves like this is a medium (15 foot WN swell) day in Praia do Norte, so imagine a big day (30 foot WN swell).

What a surprise that a loudmouth who learnt to surf big waves with a jetski would be scared of swimming in through "hells kitchen". Getting sick of "foreskin dog" and his self important prattle. Nice waves though, thumbs up to the local boys in Puerto, don,t let those Santa Cruz wankers think they are running the show down there, I know the avearage Mexican would be treated like shit by them in Santa Cruz. Viva Mexico!

Foreskin's does have a loudmouth...ha must like to hear his lips flap! But he was paddling into Mavericks and huge Puerto in the early 90's before the jet-ski movement arrived. And he is one hell of a surfer (2ft- 20ft+)... He rips! The Santa Cruz boys surf good and stand out in any surf line-up.. But they never claim to run the show anywhere but in Santa Cruz...which they do. Coco and the Puerto boys run the show at home in Puerto. If you've ever been there, then you know that! And you probably wouldn't be hatin' on ol' foreskins for rushin' the sh*t it, lil cuntie!!! Maybe you get chewed up a lil too much back home, eh?! That's a good reason to hate a BIG ego'd cocky loud-mouth like Skinny.. Darn him!!! I'm pretty sure he's still making good money from his sponsers at Volcom and all that too.... HAAAA!!! He's get'n paid to tow into these barrel and butt-hurt you!!!

To all who surfed that giant swell, to your bravado and your skill, to all who'd surf such monsters well, there is a price to pay. Broken boards and bodies accompany the thrill. The question's only when, and happen to you it will. Make no mistake my friends, we all must pay to play. And of course, to Mr. Langer, I wish a rapid and complete recovery.

The wipe out footage at the end, which shows the surfer was under the white water for 14 seconds, highlights the importance of relaxing in that situation. Everyone can hold their breath for 14 seconds while on dry land but doing that under X feet of churning white water and not knowing when you will be able to take your next breath is a whole different ball game. Hats off to the guys surfing those waves because I know I wouldn't be out there.

Yep - he is the surfing equivalent of David Brent (from the office) at that point, he also looks like he had been sampling some of the local coca-cola.........

I love how from the board nose cam it looks about 6 foot - then cuts back to beach view and you can see the real size.
