Subject to the vagaries of sand distribution, cracking peaks and hollower walls can be found off the pure white sands at Drummonds Point. Small to moderate pulses from the W and any E wind plus higher tides will bring out the best in this improver/intermediate wave. Can be some decent length of ride on the lefts and will handle some size if it's clean.
Park the 4X4 on the sand in front of the reef. The Chapman River spot is rarely crowded despite quality lefts

This graph shows the percentage of days that had a ridable wind swell (7 seconds period or more) or groundswell (10 seconds period or more) of over 3ft. It also shows the dominant wind direction. Not all of these days will neccessarily give great surf, and very short lived wind swells or longer period secondary swells may produce surf not recorded, but it gives a clear idea of the seasonal trend and a rough guide to the chances of scoring something ridable.
