Downtime in the village of Teahupoo means; hammock time, Swiss Ball time, snorkelling time, fishing time, boating time, eating time and sleeping time.

No pot of gold, not much swell either, instead all the pros have been faced with in Teahupoo over the last couple of days is a cruisey life in a blissful paradise. It's a cruel world.

For the last two days, Andy and Parko have been puttering back and forth in a boat with possibly the brightest outboard in the world. If the sets were deemed too small, AI would be quite content to stay on the boat and get a little shut-eye.

For those who've been here since the trials, there's been no shortage of daytrips around the island; hanging with the locals, drinking coconuts and eating poisson cru at roadside stalls.

Any pros who've snuck down the village to dominate the Galaxian and Double Dragon machines have been in for a huge shock. A gang of local 10-year-old girls have been regulating at the arcade.

This is Bobby's 1000 Mile Stare, which is handy because right now the nearest solid waves are about 1000 miles away. Bobby won here in 2006 and posts as much water time as possible, regardless of the lack of swell.

Jeremy always looks fresh in Tahiti. It only takes him four hours on an Aircalin jet to get here from his home in Noumea.
