Week Forecast

The biggest issue this week is the west wind. Forecast to gust strongly all week so those spots only you know about will be the go all week and right through the weekend with the sizeable long period swell.

The swell will be biggest on the north coast but the consistently strong west/north-west winds will prove troublesome so those looking for a cleaner wave at the weekend should head south for cross/offshore conditions or into shelter.

North East look like a small wave for Friday and favourable winds. Moving into the weekend there will be swell but the winds will be gusty and from the north west - straight east facing spots will be the go.

Recap

A solid week of surf for both coasts with the north getting the best of what proved to be a series of high quality swells accompanied by favourable south-easterly winds. If you missed it then you missed out.

Next Week

A decent swell accompanied by a lessening in the wind should see some decent clean conditions across the South West. The North-East looks pretty decent on Monday but the swell will drop quickly for the remainder. It looks like we are finally entering the North Atlantic winter swell cycle of deep low pressures, long period swells and it will often be surfing before and after the peak of the low which will provide clean conditions.
