Esther’s Field is a 17th-century granite farmhouse set into the hill overlooking Sennen Cove.
It sits in an acre of private garden, just a short walk from the beach.
Esther’s Field has three bedrooms - a 6ft double, a twin with 3ft beds and a bunk room, also with 3ft beds. All have soft pillows and good cotton bedlinen.
Every bedroom is ensuite: the double has a large sunny bathroom and the other two have shower rooms.
Esther’s Field has a large sitting/dining room with comfortable sofas and armchairs, TV, DVD and a good-sized wood-burning stove. There’s also a pretty second sitting room (also with TV and DVD) which, like almost every room in the house, has gorgeous beach views.
The farmhouse kitchen has a Rayburn, tall larder fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and walk-in larder. There is also a tumble-drier in the garage. The lobby has a downstairs cloakroom and space for boots and coats. There is a high-chair in the kitchen, and the bedrooms have plenty of space for a travel cot.
The garden has amazing beach views, large lawned areas, flowerbeds and a summerhouse full of garden furniture.
From the garden gate you can walk down the footpath to the cove in a few minutes. Sennen is famous for its mile-long stretch of golden sand (which holds an EC Blue Premier Beach Award) and its clear Atlantic rollers attract surfers and swimmers. There’s an excellent Surf School on the beach: they provide all the wetsuits, boards etc. The Old Success Inn and The Beach (The Guardian’s “best beach restaurant in Europe”) are a few yards from the sands.
Walk down the lane from Esther’s Field, and the rocky outcrops of Land’s End are less than a mile along the footpath. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno with its dramatic stage and seating cut from the rockface is worth visiting. Nearby are the well-known towns and villages of the far west: St Ives with its Tate Gallery, Mousehole, St Just and Penzance - all have great art galleries, restaurants and antique shops.

Esther’s Field is let Saturday to Saturday, 10am departure, 3pm arrival.
Bedlinen and bathroom towels are provided: just bring your own beach towels.
All heating and electricity is also included, as is a basket of logs to start you off.
