ROAD-TRIPPING around Spain and France in the autumn of 2010 lucks into some solid swell.

Starting off in the barrels and wine region of Hossegor saw a few playful days of head-high Landes. Before a decent chart sent the boys scampering across the French border into the province of Biscay in the Basque Country and eventually, Mundaka, the reeling hollow heart of Northern Spain.

The world reknowned fickle left, breaker of a million World Tour hearts over the years served up the goods, delivering several days of small but perfect barrels.
