[PT-Bankvaults]

Anthony from the Kandui Resort may be a bit biased about the quality of the waves here but the pictures tell their own story - judge for yourself.

Taking the high line ... Bankvaults© 2009 - Kandui Resort

Kandui Resort is strategically located in an area known as “Playgrounds” - with six waves within five minutes of each other and two of the best waves in the world on either side of our island: Rifles and Kandui. Says Anthony. This might be the best location on Earth for any surf resort. Bankvaults (pictured above) is a thick, barreling right, punctuated by a shifting line-up. Sets seemingly emerge out of nowhere and can wreak havoc if you're caught out of position. Despite the dangers, snag a clean, open barrel here and you'll be talking about it for years.

yes i agree with guy above - then makes sense to search out your own rifles and then the 1 week overland missioning won't be in vain. Tried it last year, bought some nautical charts for a remote area in the tropics, flew in, overlanded 2 days, 2 dodgy boats later landed up on 'the' island where i thought might be a wave...no swell...went back 2 times later...still no sign of life...then when all was about to be lost after a month of missioning went back one last time and the season changed, wind blew non-stop onshore, and with it a consistent hefty onshore groundswell...local dug out hired to motor around the islands to find a protected corner...and it was well worth it :::))) new found paradise offshore all day everyday. get off your asses , get off the internet (except for weather forcasts and buying natutical charts) and get out there and find your own spots, stop winging, nuff said.

This also takes naming spots to a new level!

Nice advert, doesn't tell you about the resort policy of towing into head high waves within a few metres of other surfers in the lineup.

Also doesn't mention that if you paddle out at any of the spots with the 'professionals and their video cameras' they'll basically tell you not to bother as you won't get any waves. a great thing when you've spent 1 week going overland carrying your water and food while they get flown out and speed-boated right to the island to hog the surf.
