thank you for letting the rest of the world know about the few waves we have, we had somethin special, now just a kook trap, 100+ people on one peak, for the record the waves are only really good once or twice a year, so don't get your hopes up.
FWI, watch out for the damn horse flies. They get you even in the water, and don't let one in you car! Also, carry extra water if you're crossing any of the long bridges after dark for windshield washer fluid.
Absolutely loved NC, I spent 13 months in E-city going to Aviation Electronics school at the CG base. I surfed every friggin day after school. Thank god gas was cheap back then. I got my first stitches at a beach break just up from Boilers. Best people around in those parts.
Nice article about the banks,its a great place to visit and the surf can be epic.Secret Spot Surf Shop the home of Outer Banks legendary shaper/surfer Steve Hess is now run by Leanne Foster one of the East Coast top women surfers and is the place to go if you want up to date break info. or just general knowledge.Shes a Hattie girl by birth and the shop is one of the oldest and definetly the most grassroots shops around.
