ONE pretty happy looking Taj Burrow took the first World Tour event of the year and with it took a lead in the ratings, opening up the best chance of his career to take the title.
Three for three for the boy from Yallingup, two of which being 'CT events. The start of a roll? Is Taj coming to form just as the others falter, the guard changes and suddenly an opportunity is presented? Possibly.
"I’m so so happy right now – it’s the best feeling on Earth!" Burrow said. It’s unreal. I have a good group of friends with me and my parents are here supporting me. To have everyone cheering me on in the final was really really special."
Don't usually follow comps, except for the headlines in the print press. But thanks to a very user friendly web site (heats on demand ) and some extra down time thanks to poor local conditions stayed in touch with this event. Confirmed my LACK of faith in the competition scene. Surfers that i found exciting to watch and impressed me continually got shafted ??? I'm positive this circus is decided in boardrooms not board shorts ! On a good note +5 to all those involved in the web cast, including the handy link from my daily MSW dose.
I completely agree, I like Kai's surfing but no way did he surf better than Mick in Round 4. On his 2 top waves Kai hit 5 back hand snaps and 1 floater - Mick's last wave by itself beats that. Check it out http://www.quiksilverpro.com.au/heats.aspx#/169/
hold on.... who cry's in their oats? did dwight k schrute write this article ? don't mind me i'm just a little bitter over the dane reynolds/jordy smith chirp.
