WHEN I first met Taj Burrow I jumped him outside a restaurant in France and made him talk to me. Today as I waited outside his house in Tahiti with Romain from Surf Sessions a surprised Mr Burrow rocked-up only to be hijacked and made to talk again. He likes it, I think.
It was another small day down at the Billabong Pro Tahiti and the lack of competition meant we had nothing better to do than give our skin to the outside reef passes (mainly due to my abject lack of surfing ability) and bother the pros hoping they'd have something interesting to say. We also got under the feet of the web team and plan to sit down with some road protesters later in the week.
Turns out Taj had no idea we were coming and had been arguing at the airport with customs that his boards were not weapons. Debatable I thought but that's by-the-by...
Teahupoo's line-up as shot by the agile Kirstin who ran up the mountain this morning and grabbed the shot.
