The first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, Alex, kicked-up offshore of Texas and the Transworld SURF hurricane hunters were on the ground to track it down.

Despite sending swell to some of the oil affected areas the main tidal surge came ashore in Mexico saving the worst of its venom for relatively unaffected areas. Strange thing to say about a hurricane which makes landfall but the Gulf dodged a bullet.

ok, so here's what I have to say....there a ton of AMAZING surf on the gulf coast. I give major props to MSW and the pro surfers involved to go out and find the waves...on the gulf coast, the spirit of the TRUE SURFER lives on - as an adventurer, searching for that perfect wave....bring your asses, any of those who doubt...
