Add a New Surf SpotRegional Overview
Open to swells from every direction, with numerous set-ups which can produce world class waves, catching these spots working can be tricky. Cold is obviously an issue as is very limited light in the prolific winter season. During the summer light is no problem but tricky winds and a lack of swell can be, though you have time to wait for spots to light-up. Water temperature in winter are only just above freezing but improved wetsuits are opening this previously closed environment.

Part of what makes this event fun is not only the surfing, but the abundance of nature, the trails, camping and peacefulness offered by this majestic area of southern California. ? Getting to the beach and lower trestles requires a hike through a peaceful valley past a Native American burial ground. The natural offerings of this area make the trip worth while. combining the beach with the forest, hills and camping make this a prime destination for anyone, as you will find many things to enjoy. ? Known to many surfers as one of the world's most fun waves, lower trestles brings out the weakness as well as the strengths of surfers. A split peak, tapered wall wave gives a nice slope with long runs.
