Hollow, fast right point that occasionally comes to life in SW swells. Rocky, rippy and not for beginners. Car park by the beach. Facilities in the village. Beachbreak peaks to the east of Freshwater, usually better with more water. Plenty of other beach/reef options on this southwest-facing coast in big SW swells providing the wind has N or E in it. Car park at northwest end of beach. The most popular southeast-facing spot on the island tames the blustery SW winds and throws up some decent peaks when the swell is big enough to wrap in. More waves to the south at Shanklin, Ventnor and the Niton reefs on the tip of the island, which are threatened by new coastal development.
