PURE samba surfing allowed Brazilian Jadson Andre to claim the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina. He defeated nine-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater who had to content himself with the number one spot in the world rankings.
With 20 mammoth rounds down the previous day and a fading swell the sun came out to play and the the wind dropped off for finals day. Brazil loves surfing, not as much as the national obsession (the real) football, but it seems to come second. A crazy crowd lapped up the action all week and more than one pro was heard to wish that surfing was so popular in their home countries.
Progressive surfing deservedly won the day amongst the shifty beachbreak peaks and what would have proved a bit dull only a year or two ago turned into something more akin to a live audition for Modern Collective II.
I didn't get a word of what cha saying (english isn't my mother language, struggling but doing my best though, helps me practice at least). And yeah I dare
French often tell me that a saffer and an englishman are the same thing. You English? No, saffa. Same thing........... wot????????, so you are Tunisian then.
Who you talking about Soutie? Regarding that "Anglosaxon" stuff, I agree that it's a somehow a generalization, but it wasn't meant to be negative at all or to hurt anybody, it's like talking about "Latins" when refering to people from Spain, South America...
Sure mate : ) Squirl, what's that with Tunisians, you believed Soutie & thought i'm one? The poor fellas ain't got no surf cuz.. I'm actually from morocco & live home, love it
Younss it was a very poor play on words on my part....tunisia = tuna.....you see I have no friends so all I have to play with are words....and myself : )
Oh c'mon mate, you got Soutie : ) And words are pretty cool to play with, I like to play with 'em as well but I still miss a few things with the english ones as you can see
