[PT-Perfect 10] The perfect score ... Dane Reynolds© 2009 - Kelly Cestari/ASP/CI via Getty Images WHAT a day - commencing with Curren vs Occy before moving into perhaps the best day of competition ever seen on the Dream Tour. Curren edged Occy in the Clash of the Icons in solid surf at the start of the day, remarkable in itself, but as the tide dropped out J-Bay transformed itself into a high performance machine - flirting between deep makeable barrels, critical walls and endless opportunities for floaters - with three barrels a wave not out of the ordinary. This was 'that day' which as a local you would be talking about for years and it is such a refreshing change to see the Dream Tour lucking into a swell like this. Standout performances were required from each heat winner. Dane Reynolds and Joel Parkinson scored perfect 10s with Kelly Slater taking the highest heat total of the day, dropping two 9s out of his combined scores. If you could give the day of competition a score it would have to be a 9.9 or perhaps even a 10. Click through to review some of the top performances of the day.
