La Islilla is a fishing village where local kids like to ride the waves on wooden boards fashioned from the decks of decommissioned fishing boats. The righthand pointbreak on the right side of this little bay can get really hollow when a summer N swell meets any wind from the east. Natural footers will want to try this one, but it is hard to catch it working since it ranks as low to medium consistency (3-4/10).
Because it doesn't break too often, there are few to share with when it does. Long drive along the dusty coast road and a good distance from the Pan American Hwy. Forget the Bay Of Sechura, unless you are looking for small, close-out mushburgers.

This graph shows the percentage of days that had a ridable wind swell (7 seconds period or more) or groundswell (10 seconds period or more) of over 3ft. It also shows the dominant wind direction. Not all of these days will neccessarily give great surf, and very short lived wind swells or longer period secondary swells may produce surf not recorded, but it gives a clear idea of the seasonal trend and a rough guide to the chances of scoring something ridable.
