Lighthouse (Tongatapu) Spot Guide

Close to its? namesake, Lighthouse is a dangerous, barrelling right-hander suitable for experienced surfers only. Get friendly with the locals and many more spots will reveal themselves. Spots with names like E.T's, Loonies, Sharkie's and Razors. In the N of the island is a large area of offshore reefs, named the Hakau Mama'u Reefs, that stretch from Malinoa to Tau. Accessible by boats only, these wind sensitive spots get classic. There is a rare wave that breaks down the cliff side at Ufilei, on nearby Eua Island.
