Mancora, (where Ernest Hemingway is supposed to have found the inspiration to write the novel ?The Old Man and The Sea?) is a small fishing village with a rolling lefthand pointbreak that has nice walls, and depending on how much sand is covering the rocks, a few tube sections. Prefers incoming tides and more water over the first section that stands up better than the inside shoulders where cutbacks prevail.
It's generally a mellow wave that is consistent and busy, especially in summer. Crowds of learners and tourists join the locals and weekend warriors from Lima, making it quite tense and drop-ins are common by those that don't know or don't care. Lots of accommodation and nightlife.

This graph shows the percentage of days that had a ridable wind swell (7 seconds period or more) or groundswell (10 seconds period or more) of over 3ft. It also shows the dominant wind direction. Not all of these days will neccessarily give great surf, and very short lived wind swells or longer period secondary swells may produce surf not recorded, but it gives a clear idea of the seasonal trend and a rough guide to the chances of scoring something ridable.
