The beaches around Noordwijk/Zandvoort face WNW-NW. A north swell works best here but it can also be reasonable with some West windchop or the occasional South swell that pushes up through the channel.
A SE wind is best as it is pure offshore, but anything from S to NNE works. These beaches are very exposed so be prepared to drift a lot if the winds are on or side shore.
There beaches are all beachbreaks, high tide you surf the first and second bars, lowtide 2nd and 3rd. When we get lucky with a good swell and light winds, we can sometimes surf the 4th bar, so look out for that.
A great place to go is Langevelderslag, a couple of kms north of Noordwijk. Very few surfers, cheap all day parking and a cool surfschool/club (surfandbike.com) where you can hang out, take a shower and get changed.
have a good one!
