Regional Overview
Harsh desert awaits intrepid surfers in the region with Roaring 40s swells from the south-west consistently hammering the coastline. The iconic Red Bluff is the region's most famous spot but potentially hundreds of other spots exist along the 1000 of miles of exposed coastline – many unridden. Winds blow predominately from the south and swell wrapping around rock bluffs and reefs offer the most potential for a clean wave. First surfed in the 1930s hazards such as snakes and sharks are a very real threat across the entire region. wave. Adventure awaits the well prepared surfer.
