Oceano Surf School

Oceano Surf School is based on El Palmar and Conil de la Frontera beaches in Cadiz South Spain. We are the original surf camp and surf school in and around Conil de la Frontera and El Palmar. We have been developing the surf camp product over the past ten years. Our surf camps are enjoyed by people from all over the world.

Surf Camps

The surf camps are designed to improve your surfing, Ocean skills / awareness and to be around like minded people for the duration of your surfing holiday. The surf camps are 100% professional and cover all aspects of surfing, including beach life guarding and ocean safety. Included in the price of the surf camp is your accommodation. The accommodation is based in Conil de la Frontera. A lively Coastal Town which by day has spectacular beaches and by night is a hub for nightlife. The accommodation is shared with other guests of the surf camp.

The surfing lessons take place on the beach of El Palmar. Depending on the weather and ocean conditions most surfing will take place in El Palmar. Transport is available in a daily basis to and from the beach of El Palmar for the duration of the surfing lessons. The surfing lessons are suitable for complete beginners and intermediate surfers. During the week we will cover most aspects of surfing including a lesson in forecasting waves and ocean safety. By the end of the week you will be confident in the water and will have made lots of new surfing friends who share the same interests as you.

Accommodation

Our Accommodation is based in a quiet urban neighborhood of the beach side town of Conil de la Frontera. We have two brand new self catered apartments that are clean, comfortable and have a superb beach access by foot. The apartments have fully equipped kitchens, spacious living rooms, sunny patios and clean, comfortable bedrooms. Conil has a winter / spring local population of around 25,000 inhabitants which numbers swell in the tourist high season. In turn Conil is host to a thriving community of local markets selling local produce as well as a few large supermarkets that stock everything that you might need for the duration of your holiday.

A five minute walk down the hill from the apartments are the Conil de la Frontera town beaches which are both immense and beautiful. In the Conil part of the Costa de la Luz beaches you can find restaurants such as ´Casa Fransico de la Fontanilla´ This is a lovely restaurant that encroaches onto the white sands of the Atlantic beach. The apartments are ideally suited for you to make the best of Conil de la Frontera and the surrounding area.

Yoga

Yoga for surfing is an important part of Oceano surf school’s surfing lessons. The yoga that we teach you is suited to all age groups and fitness levels. Yoga will improve your surfing and hopefully you will be able to keep practicing yoga in your daily routine which will enhance every area of your life!

Unlike most sea sports surfing does not require any machinery; surfing puts you into a very natural environment and in order to ride waves your energy and physical fitness levels are put to the test. Surfing also demands that your mind and body are co-ordinated. In order to harmonise your body and mind yoga works wonders!
