TOO big for Waimea? Well then, head on over to Maui for a spot of 50ft Peahi (Jaws).

Laurie Towner got the wave of the day and the rest weren't that bad either. An all-star cast turned up to surf the first super-sized swell of the season on December 7th.

Cast: Ian Walsh, Rasta, Laurie Towner, Luke Egan and Mike Parsons. Laird was reputedly somewhere there as well.

It would be absurd for anyone to deny the gnarlieness of these waves however, Im way more stoked and much more impressed with the Eddie contest as well as Mavericks and really anywhere that people PADDLE into waves. Again Im not saying that this isnt gnarly. What I am saying is much respect to all surfers who PADDLE into waves!
