Lake Worth, FL December 14, 2011
Peter Mendia joins the board of directors for Share The Stoke Foundation. This 501c3 is committed to keeping kids off the street and in the water surfing. As an organization they travel around the world identifying and donating surfboards to kids who live in coastal communities and are at risk.
Share the Stoke Foundation was founded in 2007 with official 501c3 status granted in February 2011. To date, the organization has donated over 50 surfboards to children living throughout Florida, California, Maryland, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Share The Stoke Foundation was founded by Kelly Kingston, an avid surfer and South Florida resident.
Peter Mendia is a professional Billabong rider. Additionally, he is sponsored by Proctor Surfboards, Zippo, Island Water Sports (Lake Worth, FL), Moana, Surf Company, Ted Shreds, and Freak Traction. Peter currently lives in Palm Beach, Florida and is a free surfer. When Peter is home he can often be found spending time with his wife and two children.
