Piedras Negras is another high quality, lefthand reefbreak with powerful, barreling, take-off section from mid to high tide and is only surfed by a friendly local crew. Ilo is a bustling industrial port with one of the largest copper smelters in the country, as well as a copper refinery, only 2km from Piedras Negras, belching out large amounts of air and water pollution.
