Anglesea is a typical coastal town that has some decent beachbreaks for the hordes of groms and fun rights at Point Roadnight for the mellow, mal-riding dads. Needs a huge S-SE to be any good since it is nestled behind a long rocky finger, allowing the sand to build up on the lee side and providing protection from SW-W winds. Long rides assured if you are lucky enough to catch this rarity firing.
There are decent learners waves closer to town at Main Beach and down past the cliffs, where the beach angle is fairly flat and it often closes out.

This graph shows the percentage of days that had a ridable wind swell (7 seconds period or more) or groundswell (10 seconds period or more) of over 3ft. It also shows the dominant wind direction. Not all of these days will neccessarily give great surf, and very short lived wind swells or longer period secondary swells may produce surf not recorded, but it gives a clear idea of the seasonal trend and a rough guide to the chances of scoring something ridable.
