This low tide break needs a good 6-10ft swell to break on the outside coquina shelf. Requires some swell angle to be any good, so a S hurricane or a winter N/NE are ideal. Low tide incoming or outgoing can produce good peaks and fast walls. Occasionally will form a surfable high tide shorebreak along the miles of coast south of Jacksonville Beach. Always affected by shifting sandbars.
Average consistency so it's only sometimes crowded. The large parking lot is a favorite for thieves, who obviously don't come from the surrounding affluent area. Other problems include jetskis and estuary runout, which in turn attracts more than the usual amount of sharks.
