A SURF EXPERIENCE IN HOSSEGOR WITH OUR PRO SURFERS

6 days to learn how to surf or to improve your skills with our pro-riders, on one of the best beach breaks in the world, in an infrastructure designed by surfers, for surfers. Quiksilver has selected Hossegor, the surfing mecca, to host their first ever "Boardriders Week". The surf camp of 2011, at Quiksilvers premier European sports complex.

Nestled deep within the heart of a 10,000m2 wooded park land, the "Boardriders House", a majestic villa in the Landes tradition, will host on a weekly basis, aspiring surfers and surfing enthusiasts. Privileged individuals will be able to live a unique experience, whilst they train alongside professional surfers belonging to Team Quiksilver / Roxy / DC / Moskova.

The programme, one week immersed in the surf culture, but equally with a number of inspiring visits, like trips to the famous board shaping workshop, the impressive Quiksilver headquarters, competitions of beach soccer amongst friends, beach volley on site and battles of stand up paddle...

A qualified team of instructors, accompanied by our pro surfers, will gladly share their expertise and knowledge of the ocean throughout the best spots of Les Landes, including Capbreton, Hossegor and Seignosse. All in all you will receive the best guidance and instruction, all within an authentic atmosphere.

THE SURF CLINIC « BOARDRIDERS WEEK » ADULT & JUNIOR (+ 14 YEARS OLD) INCLUDES :

Free transfer shuttles, full board and accommodation from Saturday to Saturday

The BOARDRIDERS WEEK shuttle buses will be on hand to pick up clinic participants on each Saturday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Bayonne train station and Biarritz Airport. On the following Saturday these buses will transport the participants back to their departure points by 10:00 am.

Accommodation in a "Landais" style, traditional villa composed of 3 levels. Housing 18 comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms and a large catering facility. Quality and balanced meals managed by a local caterer will be provided. Breakfast is served at the surf camp in the morning, a picnic style lunch on the beach around noon, and self serve dining and BBQ's in the evenings.

An intensive surf coaching clinic

The courses will be led by qualified trainers / instructors who hold State Certification in Surfing (Brevet d'Etat de Surf), from the Hossegor Surf Club. The participants will be spread out in groups by age and ability. For the Junior participants, all activities will be overseen by a qualified monitor and they will be supervised 24h /24h.

Transportation between surf spots

When surf conditions are not optimal on the beaches located close to the BOARDRIDERS HOUSE (Notre Dame Beach and Point d'Or), additional shuttles will be arranged for participants between Capbreton, Hossegor and Seignosse in search of the best conditions with our 9-seater minibus.

High quality and adpated Quiksilver and Roxy surf equipment /gear

Appropriate wetsuits will be provided, surf boards adapted to your level, with the additional opportunity, during the clinic to try out three different types of boards:

MINI-MALIBU (2m40) for beginners
SURF EVOLUTION (2m10) for experienced surfers
Epoxy resin boards to help enhance / develop overall technique and skills

You will be kitted out in Quiksilver / Roxy one piece long sleeved wetsuits or shorty wetsuits depending on the temperature of the water.

Multiple additional activities

A visit to the shaping workshop, run by well known shapers: from the conceptualisation to the finishing - be ready to discover the most important secrets of fabricating a surfboard. In addition, various activities outside of the surf courses will also be offered, such as: bike tours, stand up paddle trips on Lake Hossegor (accessible by foot), a visit to the Quiksilver headquarters, concerts, shows, etc.

If weather conditions are conducive during the sessions, you will be filmed and photographed by your instructor, thus making it possible to review your efforts on the same evening, so as to applaud your progress and correct any possible weaknesses or mistakes for the following sessions.

Surfing films will be screened in order to facilitate lively technical discussions with our pro surfers on the Team and will allow you to quickly acquire a good basic knowledge of our sport.

A luxuriously equiped villa, hugely spacious and with a complex sports infrastructure

Availability and use of the sports complex infrastructure and facilities that are spread over a 10,000 m2 wooded park land, comprising of soccer pitch, beach soccer, beach volleyball, table tennis, petanque (boule), etc.

Games room with billiards, table football, museum-library area dedicated to the surf culture, a projection room, self-service computers, free high speed wireless wifi internet connection...
