WHO: Red Bull is setting out to find the best amateur surfer in New York through a three-city surfing competition. Red Bull Triad will allow competitors to surf three of New York’s best breaks over three months.
WHAT: Red Bull Triad, the first-ever Long Island-based surf series, will determine the best surfer in New York under various conditions at multiple surf breaks with no restrictions on age and style. This unique competitive series will welcome both known and unknown surfers ��" but all competitors must reside in New York.
The three-city tour begins this month in Long Beach and culminates in a chilly November stop in Montauk.
WHEN: Dates and Locations:
· September 30, 8 a.m. ��" 5 p.m.
Long Beach, N.Y.
· October 21, 8 a.m. ��" 5 p.m.
Gilgo Beach, N.Y.
· November 11, 8 a.m. ��" 5 p.m.
Montauk, N.Y.

COMPETITION FORMAT: |
· Free surf format with 10 heats each day of competition. Each surfer is guaranteed two heats.
· Surfers are ranked by combining the top scores from each heat, plus the third highest score pulled from either heat.
· The top six surfers then surf a third heat to determine the ranking, 1 - 6. |
