Kent Surf School is run by Dan Chapman who started surfing Viking Bay Broadstairs in 1987. Taught the basics by local Legend Rick Beugg and starting on a surf ski Dan soon realised the potential of the Kent coast and within a season he progressed onto a surfboard. He has spent much of his time over the years traveling and as well as surfing most places in the UK Dan has surfed all over the world including many Indonesian islands, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, California, Puerto Rico, The Canaries, France and Morocco. After all this there is nothing more he enjoys than a good surf at home. You will see him in the water most of the time there is a wave no matter what the weather or time of year. He is a BSA Surf Instructor, he trained and qualified on Fistral Beach Newquay with the Escape Surf School. He is a qualified RLSS Lifeguard and first aider. He has also taught skateboarding at Revolution Skatepark for years and has helped many to enjoy and progress in surfing.

PricesBeginner lessons2 hours, equipment included £35.00
Specialist lessons2.5 hours, beginners or advanced, 1 on 1, equipment included £80.00
2.5 hours, beginners or advanced 1 to 2, equipment included £120.00
Specialist lessons can include different teaching techniques for different people for instance a range of surfboards could be used or even video filming for playback.
Practice Sessions2 hours, equipment and advice (upon completion of a beginner lesson and with the satisfaction of the instructor) £20.00
We can give lessons for schools, parties, and any other groups who may be interested. Our lessons are carried out by a qualified BSA level 1 instructor. We have public liability Insurance of £5 million

Kent Surf School offers surf equipment for hire ranging from surfboards to skimboards the following rates apply,
Soft surfboards £5.00 per hour, £10.00 per half day, £15.00 per day
Soft bodyboards including flippers £5.00 per hour, £10.00 per half day, £15.00 per day
Surf Skis including paddles and buoyancy aid £5.00 per half hour, £9.00 per hour
Paddle Boards including paddle and buoyancy aid £8.00 per half hour, £15.00 per hour
Soft-top pro skimboards £5.00 per hour
Wetsuits £5.00 per hour, £10.00 per half day, £15.00 per day
