FOR one glorious day the drought broke, La Grav pumped as did every sand bank up and down the Frech coast.
SOMEWHERE, Indonesia (Thursday, July 31, 2008) – The Rip Curl Pro Search, stop No. 6 on the 2008 ASP World Tour, is back to the primary venue ’somewhere’ in Indonesia and will see Round 2 hit the water at 8am in solid six foot (2 metre) surf.

The swell has subsided a bit from yesterday so we’re back to our primary venue where there are beautiful six foot (2 metre) lefthanders reeling all the way down the point,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Search Contest Director, said. “We’ll be getting Round 2 underway at 8am and we’ll be looking to run all 16 heats by day’s end.”

Yesterday’s Rip Curl Pro Search saw incredible Round 1 action with standouts Kelly Slater (USA), Andy Irons (HAW), Joel Parkinson (AUS), Bruce Irons (HAW), Chris Ward (USA) and Kieren Perrow (AUS) all setting the performance benchmark.

Today will see the elimination Round 2 begin at 8am and will feature highly-anticipated match-ups of Bede Durbidge (AUS) and Owen Wright (AUS), Tim Reyes (USA) and Travis Logie (ZAF), Jordy Smith (ZAF) and Royden Bryson (ZAF) among others.

Surfline, official forecasters for the 2008 Rip Curl Pro Search, are calling for today’s solid Southwest swell to maintain throughout the day before ping slightly in the late afternoon.

First up will be current ASP World No. 5 Taj Burrow up against wildcard Komang “Gogo” Suijaya (IDN).

The event will be webcast LIVE via http://live.ripcurl.com/
