HOSSEGOR, France (Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008) –The remaining 12 heats of Round 2 of the Quiksilver Pro France will run at Les Estagnots this morning. Round 3 is on standby. Competition commenced at 8am.
The first heat of the day will feature Bobby Martinez (USA) versus Ricky Basnett (ZAF) followed by Andy Irons (HAW) versus Jihad Kohdr (BRA).
Twelve of the top 16 surfers lost their Round 1 heats yesterday, Top 5 surfers Kelly Slater (USA), Bede Durbidge (AUS), Mick Fanning (AUS) and Joel Parkinson among them. The first four heats of the round ran yesterday with Slater and Durbidge salvaging their Quiksilver Pro campaigns and Fanning and Parkinson bowing out with equal 33rds.
