Round 3 of Rip Curl Pro Search ON at Primary Venue ‘Somewhere’ in Indo

SOMEWHERE, Indonesia (Saturday, August 2, 2008) – Round 3 of the Rip Curl Pro Search, stop No. 6 on the 2008 ASP World Tour, will hit the water at 7:15am this morning at the primary venue ‘somewhere’ in Indonesia.




“The surf is clean and about four foot (1.5 metre) this morning and we’ll be getting Round 3 underway at 7:15,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Search Contest Director, said. “We’ve got some great match-ups and we’ll be looking to complete as many round 3 heats as possible today.”

Kelly Slater (USA), eight-time ASP World Champion and current ratings leader on the ASP World Tour, will face off against Dream Tour rookie Tiago Pires (PRT) in Heat 8 Andy Irons (HAW), former three-time ASP World Champion and two-time defending Rip Curl Pro Search Champion (2006, 2007) will square of against Neco Padaratz (BRA) in Heat 15, and reigning ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) will battle Rodrigo Dornelles (BRA) in Heat 9.

Surfline, official forecasters for the 2008 Rip Curl Pro Search, are calling for an increase in swell throughout the day.

First up will be current ASP World No. 3 Bede Durbidge (AUS) up against seasoned veteran Daniel Wills (AUS).
