Stretching from Playa El Espartal to Salinas, this is one of the most popular surfing beaches in Asturias. Fast, barrelling, consistent beachbreak peaks, working during all tides. Smaller towards western end. Some shelter from summer NE sea breeze. Always crowded. Some localism. Ugly, urban setting with tower blocks and concrete walkways. Residential and stormwater pollution together with industrial pollution from the nearby factories of Avil's. Good beach facilities including a surfing school. Plenty of shops and bars nearby.
