Beautifully shot and arranged, Seaworthy is a surf film that goes deeper than most, resulting in an extremely profound study of surfing and surfers. It covers a broad spectrum and diversity of wave riding techniques from body surfing to board riding, in .
Every conceivable form of surfboard is covered from alaias, olos, toothpicks, and fish through to modern high performance shortboards, surfmats and bodyboards. Board design is stripped down to its most simple form which gives a real insight into how boards have developed over the years and highlights how modern boards have, to a degree, made surfing easy.
Complementing this, the film features an array of characters from different backgrounds in the world of surfing, studying their lives, motives, philosophies and surfing equipment. Couple this with a multifarious soundtrack and the result is a very refreshing and stimulating study of our sport, illustrating how it fits into our daily lives and the unique effect it has on us all.
A captivating film that, much like a good wine, demands to be savoured, absorbed and given the time that it deserves.
