Shifting Sands is know through out the surfing world,as a comforable, relaxing place to meet other travelling surfers and to discover europes best beach breaks.Considered one of europes best surf camps by Surfeurope magazine.Come live the dream........
Welcome to Paul's Place. Let the dream begin.Shifting Sands is probably Europe's first custom built surfer's accommodation. Situated in a pine forest, with only sand dunes between us and the beaches and Hossegor center, famous for it's night life, only 5km up the coast, we are ideally positioned to have the best of both worlds (getting empty waves and a good sleep in the quiet side of Hossegor).
Shifting Sands is a large comfortable 5 bedroom house, with the capacity to sleep 14 guests in spacious rooms of 4 sharing or the privacey of a double. There are all the usual comforts with Wi-Fi broadband, Sat TV, DVD`s, books etc downstairs in the lounge. Enjoy catching some sun on the terrace or relax in the shade in one of the hammocks outback amidst a large private garden.
There are all the surfer toys at your disposal, including mountain bikes, skateboards, table tennis, indo boards, table football etc. For lessons we have teamed-up with local surf schools who can provide instruction for all standards of surfers.
But what makes us unique is the atmosphere at the house, we are a mix of Brits, Aussies, South Africans, Kiwi`s, Czechs etc, but we are all locals here. With the mix of travelling surfers, some here for contests, some here for the summer scene, but all share one passion, Surfing.
A Typical Day will start with breakfast and then it's straight down to the water. We surf each morning as it's usually off shore until noon every day. During the day you can take a class in yoga as part of the relaxing atmosphere of the garden. There's also ping pong to sharpen your reflexes and stretching to help with your fitness.
We offer individual or group surf lessons, from young children out for their first surf, all the way up to contest surfers that want better results (we've even had a dog out surfing!)
Waves can't always be guaranteed, but there's always heaps to do on flat days. You can rest any aches and pains from the previous day's surfing in the quiet of the garden,go on-line or play computer games in the house.
