Just north of the good campground in Myrtle Beach State Recreation Park, this non-restricted all-day surfing beach and pier usually gets crowded in summer. It's more of a shorebreak since hurricanes have cleared out the sandbars. Swell direction dictates whether the lefts or rights are better, which can break powerfully and close to shore.
Can be heavily affected by stormwater outfall and estuary water. Access may change when beachfront hotel and condo development is finished. A 300ft (100m) ?distance from pier? law is in force in summer.

This graph shows the percentage of days that had a ridable wind swell (7 seconds period or more) or groundswell (10 seconds period or more) of over 3ft. It also shows the dominant wind direction. Not all of these days will neccessarily give great surf, and very short lived wind swells or longer period secondary swells may produce surf not recorded, but it gives a clear idea of the seasonal trend and a rough guide to the chances of scoring something ridable.
