Welcome to Strandhill Surf School

Strandhill Surf School is the centre of surfing in Strandhill, Sligo. We have a great location in a corner premises on the beachfront. Run by owner Paul Buchanan, from Raglan, New Zealand, it is a great place to learn to surf or improve your surfing skills.

About Us

Strandhill Surf School runs daily lessons catering for all age groups from beginner to intermediate level. No experience is necessary to learn to surf and you don't need to be able to swim. Even if you've had lessons before we recommend surfing with our great team of instructors to progress further! Our instructors work right in the water with you at all times, giving you valuable advice and tips. You will be surfing with a group that suits your ability where you will have most fun and enjoy your lesson.

We are in a great location on the beach front corner right beside the Strand Bar. As we are situated in an ideal premises on the beach, the waves are in walking distance. Your surf boards will be waiting for you when you get there. After the lesson showers are provided and with lively village surroundings in Strandhill, you won't have to go far for a relaxing end to your perfect day!

Getting to Strandhill Surf School couldn't be easier! Strandhill has it's own airport with daily flights from Dublin. There is a train station in Sligo which is a ten minute drive away and is also serviced by local buses and taxis. Details available through the LINKS page...

BEGINNERS' SURF LESSONS
Group lessons giving you a good introduction to the basics of surfing.

INTERMEDIATE LESSONS
Ideal for people who have had lessons before. Improve on your basic skills & take them to the next level!

KIDS' LESSONS
Every Sunday at 10.00am and every day thoughout the summer holidays. Also check out our summer camps (see top of home page for details).

PRIVATE GROUP LESSONS
Ideal for special occasions! A great activity for large and small groups where all surfing levels are catered for.
All our instructors are qualified in surf coaching and trained lifegaurds with plenty of surfing experience!
