About Us

Surfing Croyde Bay is North Devon's premier surfing centre offering expert tuition and equipment hire. The centre has a great combination of everything you need for an active day at the beach including cafe, Solar powered hot showers and our famous in-house sand pit training area. Our surfing courses are designed to suit all abilities and ages and we have been awarded the British Surfing Association level four award which is the highest accreditation available. Many of our guests have been pleasantly surprised by our 5 to 1 student to instructor ratio which gives us that personal touch. Courses

SCB offer 6 main surf tutition packages. Each course has the same basic structure: A de-briefing session/initial preparation at HQ (in the "Pit"), followed by a 10 minute warm-up/walk to the beach before finally hitting the surf.

Equipment

Please note: ALL EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED- soft top surfboard and winter wetsuit (& gloves and boots if neccessary) in any surf lesson

Wetsuits
With any surf holiday in the UK, body insulation is vital due to the cool Atlantic Ocean. And as Surfing Croyde Bay provide surfing lessons throughout the seasons our wetsuits are of great importance. The quality is second to none and a slightly heavier weight wetsuit, than most recommend, allows our guests to feel 'toasty' regardless of the season. During the cooler months we include boots, gloves and hoods as standard.




Surfboards
Our governing body 'The British Surfing Association' stipulates that a first surfing lesson at any UK surf school must be performed on a completely soft surfboard. Further to this we also stock a large range of surfboards from intermediate soft top hard base surfboards, custom built surfboards to the latest epoxy superlight models. This selection would compliment any surfer on the planet, let alone Croyde Bay.

We also encourage more advanced surfers to use their own equipment; if found safe and appropriate by the surf instructor.

The Shop

Surfing Croyde Bay's HQ is found in the heart of Croyde village. Primarily promoting Surf Tuition, we also have an ice cream/pastries section at the entrance of the shop. This is due to the long standing 'Cream Shop' that served Croyde so well before our emergence. Our 'Surf Shop' area promotes the core brands that we support, such as Salamon and Second Skin. The back opens out to our impressive Sand Pit area where all customers first familiarise themselves with the beach and any surf equipment invloved...

Surf Centre

SCB has a wide variety of well known surf brands (Salamon, Second Skin & Globe), as well as jewellery & photography.
