GREY skies and sloppy Teahupoo greeted today's Billabong Pro Tahiti. The decision was taken to just finish up round three allowing the comp to finish either Thurs or Fri in the best conditions.

Thoughts were turning to lay day surf spots when Pat Gudauskas pulled off an audacious rodeo flip to stomp his heat. He'd just learned that he had avoided the chop off the tour by a wisker so I suppose you could call this jumping for joy? Except with a twist.

Mick Fanning, Andy Irons and Damien Hobgood were also through before the event was called off. But Pat Gudauskas owned the day with the first rodeo landed in a World Tour event? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Nice but Rodeo's are alot like ARS's aren't they? Which of course was done on a bodyboard for the first time by Eppo around 20 years ago!
