IT wasn't a great day for the big guns, crowd-pleasers, and event favourites as they all pretty much crashed out of the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach in the Round of 64.
Mick Fanning was one of the exceptions coming through in second place behind Pancho Sullivan.
"I was excited! I haven't had a heat for a while so it was good. Just stoked to be out there with Pancho. He's one of my favourite guys out at Sunset. Stoked to get through."
