GARY Linden surfer, shaper and father to a good portion what you see today in surfing.

Founder and mentor of the Big Wave World Tour which this year crowned its first world champion in Carlos Burle. A down-to-earth gent with a genuine passion to progress, Gary Linden, is the willing but unassuming figurehead of the next revolution in our sport.

Current champ Carlos described the unification of the disparate big wave events into a unified tour as, "the professional evolution of big-wave paddling... becoming our Formula 1."

But there's more to Linden than his current role.

Interested in these boards, but have to admit i have never seen one, what sort of penetration are you getting from the epoxy through the balsa, i'm guessing the first coats are very thinned or heated and the balsa takes it all. what sort of weight are we talkin also..

My first board (6'3) was a gary linden , im 33 year's old and i got it when i was 12 , with this board i got my first "thousand" waves of my life . Much respect as shaper , and much more as a big rider . keep riding Gary !!!

I've owned two of Gary's balsa boards, one a 10'6" gun off-the-rack and the other a 9'4" custom-shaped for me. He's right about the durability and stability of the more rigid balsa that foam and epoxy boards can't match. In bouncy surface chop your balsa board feels like it's on rails. First met him on Todos Santos Island, staying at a surf camp in the older, unused lighthouse. He's the Real Deal.
