Vale Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed 400 year old thatched Devon longhouse situated in the popular coastal village of Croyde.


We offer quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation all year round in friendly, relaxing surroundings.

We are just 5 minutes walk from "The Manor" public house and a few more to the village centre with its restaurants, shops, surf hire outlets and of course the world famous "The Thatch" pub.

A short walk from the village centre takes you to the award winning sandy beach of Croyde Bay!


Direct from the cottage there are amazing walks over the hills to the beautiful sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe.




Our cosy double bedded rooms are all en-suite and have colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities.


We also have a twin / single room available with shared facilities, ideal for Surfers!

Easy off road car parking.

As Vale Cottage is very old and thatched, all rooms are non-smoking.

Sorry, but we are not suitable for dogs.

A delicious freshly cooked full English breakfast is served each morning.


All our ingredients are locally sourced, locally produced, fresh, organic and free range where possible.

Complemented by a selection of fruit juices, cereals, toast and as many mugs of tea or coffee as you can drink!

We're a small two / three roomed B&B and therefore able to offer a range of flexible accommodation.

Bed & Breakfast:

1) Lovely cosy en-suite room with double bed, colour T.V. and tea and coffee making facilities - room £59* per night (normally £75).

2) 'B&B suite', lovely en-suite room with double bed and the added bonus of a private lounge with colour T.V. and tea and coffee making facilities - room £69* per night (normally £89).

3) Twin / Single room available with tea and coffee making facilities and shared bathroom (ideal for surfers) - £29* per person.

We have a separate 'surfers' shower-room/barn (pictured) with huge walk-in power shower, perfect for rinsing down and warming up after a surf.
