About Wave Rider Surf School

We are a school based in Corralejo, in the north of Fuerteventura. We provide lessons for all levels of surfer from beginner through to advanced. Our aim is simple...we want to improve your surfing! Whether it is helping you catch your first wave or honing skills you already have, we make sure that by the end of your course your surfing has seriously improved!

We only teach in small groups, no more than 6 to group, to ensure that you have all the instruction necessary, to make maximum progression during your course. We apply a heavy emphasis on safety to all our surf courses, surfing is our passion but safety is our priority!

We believe it is a privilege to teach surfing and pride ourselves on our ability to professionally teach the skills of surfing and a healthy respect and awareness of the beautiful yet, powerful ocean.

All of our instructors are accredited by the BSA (british surfing association) and SLSA (surf life saving association).

We have full liability insurance and are authorised by the APSO (Asociacion De Los Profesionales) the governing body of surf schools in Fuerteventura.

Our instructors will be with you in the water at all times, and not topping up their tans on the beach or catching waves out back!

We will pick you up from your accommodation on the day of your surf course and take you to the best spot for your ability on that day, once you are all surfed out we will drop you back at your accommodation, where you will no doubt be in need of some après surf!

Here at Wave Rider Surf School, we all have one thing in common, we all love surfing! It is important to us that you get maximum enjoyment from the time you spend with us, whether you are taking your first steps in the white water or dropping into a lush glassy wave!

“The best surfer in the water is the person with the biggest smile!”

Between September and May we run weekly Surfari courses to some of the best spots on the Island. These courses are aimed at surfers who want to surf different breaks safely. This is a great course for those wishing to surf reef breaks for the first time or for a group of friends looking to spend the week surfing different breaks together. For those that don't want the hassle of bringing their own board with them, we can arrange a hire board.

We will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the beach or reef break that is most suitable for your standard. Our instructors know this coastline like the backs of their hands and will give you a full safety brief and rundown of the break you are about to surf, pointing out the line up and best take off areas.
